Shantanu Ladkat, born with retinitis pigmentosa, encountered visual challenges from an early age. He pursued a postgraduate degree in Computer Management from the University of Pune in 2014, laying the foundation for his promising career.

Driven by a passion for assisting others with disabilities, Shantanu became a computer instructor at the Centre for Inclusive Education and Extension, Dept. of Education, Savitribai Phule Pune University, initiating a journey to make a difference in people's lives.

Another milestone in Shantanu's journey was his involvement in the Accessible India Campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Serving as an Access Auditor, he conducted audits for 100+ government offices nationwide, identifying barriers hindering accessibility for individuals with disabilities and recommending comprehensive solutions to create a more inclusive environment.

In 2015, Shantanu began working as a trainer at the Technical Training Institute and eventually became a Manager. He was passionate about training on Accessibility and basic computing.

In August 2021, he made history by becoming the first visually impaired person in India to earn a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Computer Management, competing in the non-disabled candidate category due to the absence of reservations for PWD candidates. His dedication not only broke barriers but also inspired countless others.
